Art is not just a way to express emotions, but a way to embrace the positive and combat the negative. We mil-spouses know how military life disrupts the status quo, and our kiddos can sometimes internalize their feelings about that disruption. Art serves as a release and a constant, no matter the locale. Our kiddos paint their dreams, write words of courage, dance out frustration, meditate through music…
Cora (age 12) lives in Arizona where her dad serves in the Air Force. She finds artistic inspiration in Studio Ghibli films. As a visual artist, she enjoys working in a variety of media including map colors, markers, and Adobe Fresco.

Saoirse (10) has been playing the diatonic button accordion for a few years. She takes lessons via Skype from Connor Cook (https://www.connorgcookmusic.com/) via Zoom because Connor lives on the Pacific, and we live on the Atlantic. This is a traditional Irish tune called “Britches Full of Stiches.

Noah loves to use dabbing and splatting techniques for his painting. He usually paints free of brushes and more with the use of his hands. The style of painting is abstract and bold, with use of lots of colour.

Harper Denny is a 6yo daughter of a Navy Corpsman. She has been through 3 PCS's, 1 school change, adventures and above all else, is quite the character. This budding artist loves to put her spin on everything she makes, draws, paints, embroiders and beads. There's no limit to Harper's imagination!

Ariana Denny is 12yo, daughter of a Navy Corpsman. She is the epitome of resilience. Ariana, has endured 2 of her Dad's deployments with the Marines, 5 PCS's, 2 school changes, countless adventures and life pivots. A big sister and wonderful daughter, she does her best to help pull her weight around the house and play with her younger sister.
In Ariana's spare time she does art! Any kind of art media, such as, beading, mixed media, crochet, photography, baking, clay and drawing.
She loves to try new techniques and enters her artwork into local fairs.
